The 2013 Duke 4th/5th Grade Talent Search has begun.  Fourth and fifth grade GT student packets will be sent home by November 5, 2012.

One of the following guidelines must be met in order for students to receive a packet:

  • Scored at the 95th percentile or higher on either the Otis-Lennon School Abilities Test or the Cognitive Abilities Test -- no more than two years old.
  • Scored 915 or higher on the math subtest of the 3rd Grade 2011 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • Scored 866 or higher on the reading subtest of the 3rd Grade 2011 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • Scored 873 or higher on the math subtest of the 3rd Grade 2012 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • Scored 873 or higher on the reading subtest of the 3rd Grade 2012 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • Scored 893 or higher on the math subtest of the 4th Grade 2011 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • Scored 839 or higher on the reading subtest of the 4th Grade 2011 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • Scoared 874 or higher on the math subtest of the 4th Grade 2012 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • Scored 832 or higher on the reading subtest of the 4th Grade 2012 Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test.
  • 95th percentile or higher on an IQ screener.
  • If you child moved here from another state, then last years scores from that state will be taken into account.
  • New This Year:  Coordinator's recommendation as outlined by the guildelines of our district gifted plan.
    • Paper applications choose "Other"
    • Online applications choose "Coordinator's Recommendation"

The student packets will have a cover letter that is individualized for your child and includes the school ID, test information, and scores to help with enrollment.

Online Questionaire

Please do not wait until the last minute to enroll.  Expect extremely long hold times the closer it gets to deadlines.  Notice that the phone number is long distance.

Also included in the packet is a copy of the Fee Grant Form.  This form must be completed and and mailed with a paper application if your child qualifies for the free or reduced lunch program.

Deadlines

January 22, 2013

Regular registration deadline for the 2013 4th-6th Grade Talent Search.  Students registering on or before this date will be eligible for 2012-2013 EXPLORE test dates and participation in the writing contest this year.

March 15, 2013

Final registration deadline for the 2013 4th-6th Grade Talent Search.
